Yesterday, I wrote about William Howard Taft joining the 12-foot tall Presidential Mascot races during Washington National games. Today I have some follow-ups.
Bruce Brown, Billy-Ball.com Senior Trivia Correspondent informed me that Willie Mays was named for the 27th president (Willie Howard Mays). And, it was Taft who advised young law student Miller Huggins to pursue his baseball dream.
Mike Licht, Billy-Ball.com Senior Seussology Correspondent apprised me of the DC Sports Bog that pointed out the resemblance between the Taft mascot and the Dr. Seuss character, the Lorax.
