Eight hits, four homers = one win

by Bill Chuck on June 26, 2013

Last night, following the Yankees 4-3 win over the Texas Rangers, Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. “Sometimes it’s tough to score runs when you’re not hitting home runs. We got enough tonight.”

Over the last 15 games, the Yankees hit four homers; last night, they hit four…all solo shots.

The Yankee homers were hit by Travis Hafner, Brett Gardner, Jayson Nix, and Ichiro Suzuki. The first three homers were off Yu Darvish.

This is the third time this season, that a team has hit four solo homers, scored four runs, and coincidentally gotten eight hits and the win.
