Andrelton Simmons, a double shy of the cycle

Andrelton Simmons fell a double shy of the cycle in Atlanta’s 13-4 rout of the Phillies.

This was Simmons eighth three-hit game of the season and the 11th of his career. It was the third time he has had two extra base hits in a game, all coming this season. He had two doubles against the Mets on May 5 and two homers against the Reds on May 3.

Simmons is the 12th player this season to fall a double shy of the cycle
