Astros allow four runs on one hit

by Bill Chuck on July 21, 2013

Another tidbit from last night’s Mariners 4-2 win over Erik Bedard and the Astros in which Seattle managed just one hit.

This is just the second game since 1916 in which a team has managed to score four runs on just one or fewer hit.

The first team that is not the White Sox

More White Sox

The White Sox also won 4-1 in 1914 and 6-1 in 1909.

The Mariners joined the 1914 ChiSox in scoring four runs on one or fewer hits without the help of an error. The 1914 White Sox did it in a 5-4 loss to Detroit. The Mariners scored their first two runs on a passed ball and a sac fly and their last two runs on Michael Saunders double.
