Blown Save of the Day

by Bill Chuck on July 1, 2013

There were four blown saves on Sunday, but blown save of the day honors goes to new Red Sox closer Koji Uehara who allowed a 9th inning tying homer to the Jays Jose Bautista.

Uehara picked up the vulture win after the Sox scored on a walkoff error by catcher Josh Thole playing first base like a catcher as the Red Sox continue to find every under the sun (and lights) to win. Thole, who came into the game after Adam Lind left with earlier in the game made a critical base running blunder that cost Toronto a run.
