Homerless Games

by Bill Chuck on July 9, 2013

In the Yankees 5-1 loss to the Royals last night, their one run scored on a Lyle Overbay pinch-hit homer.

No big deal you say?

The homer ended the Yankees second five-game homerless streak of the season.

Even in this era of reduced substance abuse, we can’t minimize the importance of the homer.

The Red Sox are the only team with a winning record in games that they did not homer.
