July 4th was not a good day for closers. It’s a good thing they were nt in charge of fireworks because there would have been a number of very disappointing finishing flourishes.

The blown save of the day

Honors go to Edward Mujica of the Cardinals who entered the game in the 9th inning in Anaheim with a 5-3 lead over the Halos and left with with a 6-5 loss to the Angels.

Josh Hamilton hit a tying two-run homer in 9th and Erick Aybar hit a walkoff single to win it against Mujica who had converted 21 of 21 save opportunities this season.
