Torii Hunter, a single shy of the cycle

by Bill Chuck on July 6, 2013

Torii Hunter was a single shy of the cycle on Saturday in the Tigers 9-4 win over the Indians.

Hunter has never hit for the cycle and this is his first time falling shy of the cycle because of a single. He’s never had a single, triple, homer game, but has fallen shy of a cycle 16 times because he was missing a triple. Three times he’s had a single, double, and triple in a game.

He’s the third player this season w/o a single in a cycle try
