With the Marlins 9-0 loss to the Washington Nationals last night, brace yourself: the Marlins were mathematically eliminated from winning the division title.

Despite exceeding expectations in which pundits predicted them challenging the 1962 New York Mets record for futility, the Marlins have not been awful and have presented signs that indicate that their future might be bright enough that sometime soon they will be imploded one again.
