The Mo Blown Save Report

by Bill Chuck on August 8, 2013

It’s always an ugly day when we have to report a Mariano Rivera blown save. Yankee Universe has to be particularly distressed because not only did Mo blow a save last night but Adam Warren blew a win and lead in the 12th inning as the White Sox defeated the Yankees, 6-5, to complete a three-game sweep.

The Sox entered this series having lost 10 straight and the Yankees left Chicago one game over .500 at 56-55.

Adam Dunn came on in the 9th as a pinch-hitter, with Gordon Beckham on second after hitting a two out double. And for the just the second time in his career Mo surrendered the game-tying or game-winning hit with two outs and an 0-2 count in the 9th inning or later when he singled.

Mariano has saved 35 of 38 this season
