The More than one inning save Report

by Bill Chuck on August 24, 2013

Koji Uehara recorded four outs to close out the Dodgers on Saturday and record the first four out save for Boston since Andrew Bailey on August 24, 2012, exactly one year ago.

Uehara, my choice for Sox MVP candidate, who has been brilliant for Boston this season, has one other save of more than one inning picking it up 155 weeks ago on August 31, 2010 when pitching for Baltimore going 1.2 innings against these very Red Sox.

There have now been 61 saves of at least 1.1 innings this season with 12 pitchers doing it more than once, led by Ernest Frieri’s five saves
