The 8/15 – 9/15/2011 & 8/15-9/15/2013 Report

by Bill Chuck on September 16, 2013

I can’t help but wonder if Terry Francona has any advice this morning for Ron Washington.

Or if, Fredi Gonzalez has any words of wisdom for Ron Washington.

Or even if the 2011 Joe Maddon has anything to tell Terry Francona

Or if Tony LaRussa has something to say to Davey Johnson today.

These managers are all experiencing the pressure of watching their team experience a mid-August to September collapse or revitalization.

On the morning of August 15, 2011, Terry Francona‘s Boston Red Sox were heading towards a postseason berth they never reached.

Since August 15, 2013, Ron Washington‘s Texas Rangers and Joe Maddon‘s Tampa Bay Rays have been spiraling as Terry Francona’s Indians and Davey Johnson‘s Nationals are trying to catch magic (as are Joe Girardi‘s Yankees and Ned Yost‘s Kansas City Royals).
