Alex Rios hit for the first cycle of his career as Derek Holland struck out nine in his second shutout of the season and the Rangers defeated the Hapless Astros, 12-0.

With the victory over the Rangers pulled within a game of idle Cleveland for the second AL wild-card berth with six games remaining. They are two games behind wild-card leader Tampa Bay, which beat Baltimore, 5-4.
