The Arizona Diamondbacks Report (w/video)

by Bill Chuck on September 20, 2013

Rough day for the Diamondbacks, yesterday.

The Dodgers beat them 7-6 after leading 6-3.

With the win, the Diamondbacks were mathematically eliminated from winning the division title.

With the win, the Dodgers won the division title.

Prior to the game, because of security issues, Arizona officials had asked the Dodgers not to return to the field once they entered their clubhouse if they won and to keep their celebration off the field.

In 2011, the Arizona Diamondbacks celebrated their 2011 NL West title by swimming in the Chase Field pool.

Maybe that’s where the Dodgers got the idea…

After the game, led by Adrian Gonzalez, the Dodgers wearing championship T-shirts and goggles jogged out of its Chase Field dugout, headed to the right-field wall and went jumping into the small swimming pool that is symbol of Chase Field.

D-backs president and CEO and former Dodgers executive Derrick Hall said in an email: “I could call it disrespectful and classless, but they don’t have a beautiful pool at their old ballpark and probably wanted to see what one was like.”

That’s a rough day for the Diamondbacks.
