The Boston Red Sox Report

by Bill Chuck on September 20, 2013

With their 3-1 victory last night over the Baltimore Orioles, thanks to a brilliant two-hit complete game performance by John Lackey, the Red Sox clinched the 21st postseason berth of their illustrious history.

The Sox have eight games remaining this season, their most games left at the time of clinching a playoff spot since 1995 (10). Boston’s magic number is one for clinching the AL East.
