The New York Yankees Report

by Bill Chuck on September 22, 2013

To be very honest, I never expected to be writing this piece today.

My two worst predictions of the season included my total lack of anticipating that the Red Sox would be one of the best teams in baseball and that the Yankees would finish over .500.

The Sox have shown their skills for months now and yesterday in their 6-0 beating of the Giants (wait, my other bad prediction of the season was anticipating the Giants would repeat in the NL West), the Yanks clinched a winning season for the 21st consecutive year.

In the win yesterday, Ivan Nova pitched a six-hitter for his second career shutout. Nova, the AL Pitcher of the Month for August, pitched a three-hit shutout against Baltimore on Aug. 31.
