The Russell Martin Report

by Bill Chuck on October 2, 2013

Last night, Russell Martin became the only other player to have a two-homer game in Pittsburgh joining Mickey Mantle in Game 7 of the 1960 World Series. The big difference? The Mick ended up in the clubhouse in tears, and Martin finished celebrating a victory.

Martin is the first Pirate to hit multiple home runs in a playoff game since Bob Robertson hit three against the Giants on October 3, 1971 in the Game 2 of the NLCS in San Francisco.
