by Bill Chuck on October 20, 2013

Congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals and their terrific fans after having won their 19th NL pennant and will be trying for their third World Series title since 2006, having last won in 2011, and their 12th overall. If they win the 2013 World Series, they will be the first 21st century team with three World Series championships.

Since 2004, the Cards have won 48 postseason games, more than any other team.

Since 1996, the Cardinals are 64-52 in 116 postseason games, winning 16 postseason series, four NL pennants, and so far, two World Series.

Cardinals starter Michael Wacha was named the MVP of the NLCS.
