Thanks to Justin Long of the Red Sox for this

David Ortiz leads MLB with 47 extra-base hits, the most for any Red Sox player through the team’s first 65 games of a season in the last 100 years, and the most for any major leaguer through 65 team games since SEA’s Edgar Martinez had 51 in 1996…Jimmie Foxx, who holds the Sox’ single-season XBH record (92 in 1938), had 39 XBH through Boston’s first 65 games in 1938.
